Thierry Iovane, Director Europe and Latin America, CIMA

 

Thierry is in charge of the development of employer strategy in these regions, and works to build upon CIMA’s profile by forging links with universities, business schools and governments. Thierry further represents CIMA at international consultations, government roundtables and conferences covering finance transformation and shared services across Europe and Latin America.

 

With over 20 years’ experience in international business development, prior to joining CIMA in 2005 Thierry has held senior positions at TNT Express and Regus. He is fluent in English, French, Italian and Spanish and has a good knowledge of Portuguese and Arabic.

Soeren Dressler

Prof. Dr. Soeren Dressler, Professor of International Management Accounting, University of Applied Sciences, Berlin; Director Offshoring Institute


Soeren Dressler, PhD, is Professor of International Management Accounting at the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin and Director of the international Master in Business Administration & Engineering Program. He also is Visiting Professor at the Loyola Graduate School of Business in Chicago. Soeren Dressler is the founder and Director of the Offshoring Institute and has authored a number of books and articles around Shared Services, BPO and Offshoring. He is the President of the Institute of Management Accountants in Germany.

 

Prior to his current position Soeren was with A.T. Kearney Management Consultants in Chicago where he served as Global Head of the Finance & Accounting Consulting Service Offering.

Neill Ginn
Kodak

Neill Ginn, CFG Global Accounting Shared Services, Kodak Limited


Neill has worked for Kodak for over 20 years in various financial roles supporting different parts of the business including Sales & Marketing and Manufacturing. In 2002, he was drafted into the European Financial Shared Services Centre in the UK which had originally started on a small scale in 1997. In 2005, Neill was part of the project to outsource the Shared Service Centre as part of a Global Contract, which went live in 2006. He's currently leading a project to look at moving up the value chain in Record-to-Report, including the possibility of outsourcing.

 

 

Rachael Stormonth

Rachael Stormonth, SVP of Research, Nelson Hall


Rachael is the NelsonHall SVP of all research conducted by the company. She has managed NelsonHall’s Vendor Assessment research, and has a comprehensive knowledge of the strategies and capabilities of many of the leading service providers. Prior to NelsonHall, Rachael’s previous experiences include consulting roles with a leading management consultancy, sales and marketing positions within the IT industry, and a senior management position in the U.K. public sector.

 

Rachael’s has an MBA from Warwick University and a BA (Hons) from Nottingham University.

 

 

Sandy Khanna

Sandy Khanna, Partner, IBM MBPS Europe


Sandy Khanna is a Partner in IBM's Managed Business Process Services unit, specialising in the outsourcing of business processes to our network of near shore and off shore delivery locations. He is responsible for leading our Nordics, Germany, Austria and Swiss BPO businesses, for developing our offerings portfolio across Europe and for our linkages with analysts and third party advisors.

 

Prior to this, Sandy lead IBM's Finance and Administration Practice for BPO services across Europe, having been one of the founder members of PricewaterhouseCoopers BPO business in 1996. Sandy has been involved in several major BPO deals across a variety of industries and has unique in-depth and hands on experience in all aspects of the BPO business, from initiating and leading deals and opportunities, developing compelling business cases and creative solutions, negotiating contracts and closing deals, through to the set-up and operational leadership in the delivery of large-scale outsourced shared services operations.

 

Sandy has lived and worked in several countries including The Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Poland, Hungary, Australia, and India. He hold an MBA from City University and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.

 

 

Sumesh Sharma

Sumesh Sharma, F&A Solutions Leader Europe, IBM MBPS


Sumesh is a Partner in IBM's European Business Process Outsourcing Practice. He joined IBM in 2004, and is currently responsible for all EMEA F&A Solutions in IBM, leading a pan-European team of 20 Solution Architects. Sumesh qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) with Price Waterhouse in 1997. Sumesh was a founding member of PricewaterhouseCoopers'Business Process Outsourcing Practice and has been working in outsourcing since 1997. His experience spans Europe, The Americas and India and includes Process Re-engineering in a Shared Services environment, Solution Design, Transition, Contract Support, Business Development and Sales.

Maurice Marciano

Maurice Marciano, Director, XE Group Resources & Shared Services


After his initial professional employment with Coopers & Lybrand, Maurice Marciano joined Xerox France in 1985 as a financial analyst. He held several management positions, both in France and in the UK, mainly in Finance, where his last position was Finance Director of Xerox France for 4 years. He had also worked in Sales Operations on Indirect Channels and later as a LOB Manager.

 

In 2003, Maurice joined the Senior Team of Xerox Europe to launch the Lean Six Sigma programme for Xerox Europe.

 

He then relocated to Xerox Corporate HQ in Stamford, Connecticut, as Deputy Treasurer, responsible for Developing Markets. After this, Maurice returned to Europe in 2005 where he was in charge of Customer Service Operations for 2 years.

 

In January 2007, Maurice was appointed Group Resources Director for Xerox Europe. He is a member of the Operations Committee (Xerox Europe Executive Team) and is currently responsible for HR, Shared Services and Strategy & Acquisitions.

 

Maurice is based in West London but lives in Paris with his family.

 

Roy Barden

Roy Barden, Senior Director, The Hackett Group


Mr Barden leads the Shared Services and Outsourcing Advisory Practice in Europe. Before joining The Hackett Group, he spent over ten years working as a Director in various Management Consulting firms where he specialised in leading change within the support functions of global organisations, helping clients deliver both in-house and outsourced Shared Services. Prior to consultancy, Mr Barden spent 13 years in the finance functions of multinational firms in the paper and chemical industries based in the UK before becoming CFO of a multinational speciality chemical firm located in the Netherlands. Mr Barden has a degree in Economics and an MBA from the London Business School and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Phil Fersht

Phil Fersht, Director of Research, Global Services & Outsourcing, AMR Research

Phil Fersht is an acknowledged industry analyst and advisor across Outsourcing and IT services worldwide, having worked extensively in Europe, North America and Asia as an advisor, consultant and industry analyst in Business Process Outsourcing (Finance/Accounting, Human Resources and Procurement), IT Outsourcing, Shared Services and Offshore Services. During this time, Phil has served as an advisor on over 80 major outsourcing and offshoring engagements and brings over 14 years’ business experience in the outsourcing and IT services industry to AMR Research.

 

Phil is focused on advising AMR’s buy-side clients on executing best practices when determining outsourcing strategy, vendor selection, post-transaction governance and the intersection between IT and business process strategy within an outsourced business model.  He focuses on business process outsourcing, remote infrastructure management and application outsourcing areas.  He is pioneering views on the link between IT and business processes within an outsourced environment.

 

Phil has previously served as a senior executive for Deloitte Consulting’s Outsourcing Advisory Services, where he led numerous outsourcing and offshoring advisory engagements with FORTUNE 500 enterprises. Prior to Deloitte, Phil served as Vice President, BPO Research, for Everest Group, an outsourcing strategy firm, leading a team based in India. His prior career involved serving as Vice President, Global IT Services, Software and Outsourcing for research firm Yankee Group, and as Research and Consulting Director for IT analyst IDC.

 

Phil is a frequent author and speaker on IT, Finance, HR and Procurement Business Process Outsourcing trends and issues.  He was named both an "FAO" and "HRO Superstar" by FAOToday and HROToday Magazines for 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 and was featured as the cover story for the December 2006 issue of FAOToday as one of the outsourcing industry's most prominent advisors.  He was also nominated for “Advisor of the Year” at the FAOSummit 2008.  He speaks regularly at industry conferences, which have included The Conference Board, NASSCOM, IQPC Shared Services, the Sourcing Interests Group and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals.  He is also a regular columnist for several industry publications, including Global Services Media, SSON, FAOToday and Finance Director Europe.

 

Phil also authors the global outsourcing industry’s most prominent discussion blog “Horses for Sources” (www.horsesforsources.com ), which is frequented by thousands of industry visitors daily.

Andrew Tinney

Andrew Tinney, Chief Financial Officer – UK, Deutsche Bank


Andrew Tinney graduated from the London School of Economics in 1986 and joined Arthur Andersen shortly thereafter. He was a partner in Andersen from 1997 until 2002 where he was the firm's Global Head of Investment Banking covering all of the firm's service lines for investment banking clients. He also headed up the Financial Services Consulting Practice in UK. He joined Deloitte in UK in 2002 where he also headed up their Financial Services Consulting Practice and was a member of the firm's UK and European Financial Services Leadership Teams.

 

Andrew has spent his career in financial services helping firms with the development of their strategy through to its implementation. He has extensive experience of the development of shared service centres and of helping banks, asset managers and insurers to build outsourcing platforms or to migrate to third party providers.

 

Andrew joined Deutsche Bank in 2003 as the Chief Financial Officer for Asia Pacific based in Singapore where he was responsible for the Bank’s finance function in seventeen countries. He was appointed the Bank’s UK CFO in April 2008. He also has responsibility for the firm’s global Finance Transformation programme.

 

He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has authored numerous publications including Banking and Capital Markets, A Strategic Forecast, published by the Economist Intelligence Unit, T+1 - Time to Reconsider? and more recently, Back Office Transformation - is strategic outsourcing the answer? He has been a regular speaker at industry conferences and a frequent contributor to trade publications including The Banker, STP Magazine, STP Forum, Global Custody, Financial News and Risk Magazine.
